Here is the accompanying text with the commissioned work

“I believe there’s not a more universally recognized and natural sound than that of a song bird. It can be heard in vast open spaces, the dense forests and in the urban sprawl of this Earth. Humans possess this great natural gift also, which lies within the human voice. I have chosen the skylark, that most frolicking of songster, as the main symbol in the work that i have created. This symbol represents and celebrates both the human and natural world’s gift, which is song.”
